Kohan Japanese Restaurant: User Reviews

I live a block from this place, and tried it for the 3rd time last night. Got the "Sunflower Roll", it was the best sushi roll I have ever had. If you like sushi I suggest you go to this place and try the sunflower roll, seriously. However, if you just get the basic maki rolls you will be disapaointed. They take upward of 20 minutes prepairing their specialty rolls such as the Sunflower, but slap the basic rolls together in less than a minute. Specialty rolls are $10-14 and the basic are $5-7

The food was EXCELLENT!!! And the weekend drink specials are fantastic. Most of their specialty drinks are only $5 on Friday & Saturday. As with any sushi place it can get a little pricey, but well worth it. The wait staff is very knowledgable of the menu, and even some off-menu items. Alex is the best waiter in the place so you're in luck if you get him. Never been disappointed. One of the best kept secrets in the City.

My wife and I found this place on Metromix and decided to try it. We are impressed with the quality and variety on the menu. We are frequent diners and we agree it is great value and some of the best sushi in Chicago. We have recommended this Restaurant to many of our friends and they too have enjoyed a good dinner at a fair price.

I just moved to the neighborhood and feared there would be no decent sushi. But I stumbled upon Kohan and now crave their Rainbow rolls, Chicago crazy rolls, and pretty much everything else they make. Their prices are reasonable, the menu is extensive and it's by far the best sushi I've had in the city.

This is one of the most reasonable sushi restaurants in Chicago...The quality of the food matches the warm welcome you get everytime you eat there. The San Diego roll is the best! Most restaurants charge for green tea...
Report This ReviewWhen we first started eating here it was awesome. Recently the quality of the sushi has gone down.
Report This ReviewGood and fresh sushi and they deliver in the pilsen area which is great because parking is almost impossible to find in University Village.
