Kohan Japanese Restaurant
4.1
- Neighborhood: Little Italy/University Village
- 730 W. Maxwell St.
- Chicago, IL 60607-5019
- 312-421-6254
This University Village Marketplace Japanese steak and sushi spot features a display kitchen fitted with a teppan grill, where show-off chefs whip up your steaks (think Benihana, though you don't sit around the chef), and a sushi bar where your designer sushi is made on the spot. The East-meets-West inspired decor blends of modern and old-school Japan.
Kohan opened a second dining room mid-August 2007 offering the same fare, plus yakiniku, Korean-style barbecue. The tables are fitted with stainless steel gas grills for DIY kalbi (beef ribs) and more.
