Kaze

Neighborhood: Roscoe Village
2032 W. Roscoe St.

Chicago, IL 60618

Kaze is pioneering a new concept in Japanese cuisine: fresh fish topped with high quality seasonal toppings that enhance and compliment the flavors of the fish. Expect dishes like tuna topped with shitake mushrooms in a butter-and-black pepper sauce or snapper topped with foie gras. In addition to sashimi, Kaze offers unique maki including battered and fried lobster, rolled inside-out, topped with sliced strawberries and served with wasabi and strawberry puree. Other options include cooked seafood dishes; and non-fish items, all of which will focus on seasonal ingredients and Japanese preparations. Executive Chef Macku Chan helped to start Mirai and Heat, and his team hails most recently from SushiSamba Rio. Head here Tuesday nights when they offer a bargain four-course tasting menu paired with wine and sake for $45.
