Enter Kaminari (which mean's 'thunder" in Japanese) and you'll soon be under a nocturnal spell; with black walls and lacquered tables, Euro-thump music and a diverse meny, this is anything but your derivative suburban sushi joint. When Ken Kim isn't reading spiritual literary works at a corner table, he serves as manager, waiter and creator of some mighty original maki. Choose to plant yourself at the eight-seat sushi bar, a table or one of the quite private booths in the rear and get ready for some difficult choices. Out of the ordinary hot appetizers include kaki fry -- some of the best fried oysters you'll find north of Dixie, served with a tangy tomato sauce. Kim is a fan animated movies, so you'll find Shrek and Fiona maki (packed with lots of green stuff) as well as others that javelin your taste buds, such as the Fire Mountain (spicy tuna, seared salmon and crab) and Black Widow (chile, wasabi and sweet soy tobiko over cream cheese, eel and soft shell crab).
