Kamehachi : User Reviews
Open Late, The Second Floor Lounge is great for laid back evenings with out of towners, or a late sushi or sake before you head to bed. Summer / Winter/ Only Go to the Upstairs- Never the street level part of the restaurant.
All the great techniques of Kamehachi's other chowhouses but in its own style. And Style is what its all about.

I have never had a bad experience with the servers. I really like this restaurant. I have had better sushi but they have so much more to choose from. Try the scallops with plum wine!!

The sushi is ok here. You can find much better quality and variety in Chicago. The service is horrible. It took forever for our server to come over and take our order, even longer for the food to be prepared, and the check was delivered over 30 minutes after our plates were cleared. The upstairs needs to be redecorated since it is dated. I would skip this place and go to any of the other great sushi restaurants in the city.

Love the outdoor patio area in the back - great atmoshpere. The service on the other hand is SO SLOW. We waited a ridiculously long time for the food to come, and then for the check at the end. Too bad b/c the food was pretty good, but the poor service really ruined my impression of this place.
Report This ReviewLove the Kamehachi restaurants, but the cafe has terrible service. Takes forever to get food that's already prepared and waiting. Owners need to pay attention to customer service at this location. Overall lower quality compared to their other restaurants.
Report This ReviewExcellent sushi, good service. The atmosphere was a bit stuffy and the crowd gave off an overly trendy vibe. It's also a bit pricey. I would recommend this place for a date or special occasion, but not for infomral dining or price conscientous diners.
Report This ReviewDecent sushi but the service is slow and the tables are VERY close together. Reputation is overblown - go down the street to Cafe Sushi for a much better atmosphere and overall sushi experience.
Report This ReviewOne of the best sushi places in Chicago..People complaining about being too pricey??? It was so reasonable, even for being in Chicago!! Great service and food. We come back often!!
