Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)

This upscale Japanese eatery with sleek, Asian-minimalist decor isn't your run-of-the-mill sushi joint. Along side selections of sashimi, nigiri and maki (combinations are served with miso soup) are choices such as ippin ryori, Japanese-style tapas in artistic presentations that are good for pairing with sake, and shabu shau, thin slices of raw Kobe beef dipped into boiling water tableside, and then eaten with sesame or citrus ponzu dipping sauce. Sukiyaki features slices of Kobe beef simmered with vegetables and sweet soy sauce in a hot pot–yosenabe is a similar hot pot dish with chicken and seafood. A chef's prix fixe seven or five course dinner is available with reservations. The extensive sake list offers options rarely found elsewhere.
