Great sushi and a good price!

Overall rating:

You can go down the street to another sushi place and spend $10-15 a roll for more ambiance, or you can come here and get great sushi in the Lakeview area. The service was amazing and extremely attentive. The sushi came out quickly and was delicious. I recommend the Chicago roll! Yum! You can not go wrong here. The price of the sushi allows you to splurge for the ginger salad, which was great! A must if in the area.

Best Sushi Around

Everything about this place makes it an amazing place to eat at. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They give you soups, salads and other appetizers while waiting...which is a major plus! The Volcano Roll is wonderful, I highly recommend this place, as do many of my other friends.

We tried Bentonara last nite for the first time, and it was excellent! Note: they do still allow BYOB, but have had their liquor license for over a year. If you bring your own wine, there is a TEN DOLLAR corkage fee. (Not sure about beer.) Aside from that temporary disappointment, our Bentonara experience was great. The service was perfect and the maki was some of the best we've had. Don't miss the "house roll" and the "volcano roll" and the asparagus/beef appetizer. They also bring you a lot of other complimentary appetizer dishes (miso soup, salad, cucumbers, etc), which is a nice touch. We'll be going back next week, for sure!

If you are looking for the best sushi resuarant in Chicago, your search is over. Bentonara offers the freshest fish selection at the most reasonable price. Jesus and Lee, make all of the patronsfeel like they are guests at their home. So make BENTONARA your destination for the best chicago has to offer in SUSHI!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this place! I've been going for about a year now and this review is long over due. Jesse & his wife AND staff are awesome. Sit at the sushi bar and don't hesitate to have a conversation with any of them! My first time there, I must have asked Jesse every sushi question I ever had and can't get anywhere else. What? Just quizing his knowledge. Suuuuper portioned rolls the flaaaavor...oh my. I drool for the Don Mario, the Volcano and the Bull/Toro roll...my mouth is watering already. Don't shy away because there's no mood lighting with pretentious waitstaff and cheap ikea furniture...this is the real deal.

This place has it all. I was hesitant to eat there for so long because they were always so empty, and my girlfriend at the time was a snob. When my current girlfriend and I finally decided to go for it, we were not only surprised, but instantly addicted. Free Miso soup and salads with your meals, and every roll is amazing. You simply have to go!
