Restaurateur about town Jerry Kleiner (Carnivale, Gioco, etc.) is behind this Italian-focused South Loop spot sporting a menu of dishes from throughout Italy, including handmade pastas like cappellacci con cavolfiore (cauliflower-filled hats with pancetta and bread crumbs) and entrees such as pork chops with polenta and honey and veal Milanese. There’s also a mista terra table featuring grilled vegetables, artisan cured meats, cheese and other antipasti. The room reflects Kleiner’s colorful style, with two main dining areas (one with a bar vibe, the other a more subdued dining room) divided by a huge bookcase displaying a wild collection of artifacts and treasures from Kleiner's personal collection, from wine bottles and books to a sculpture fashioned from an old street sweeper. During the summer, look for a lively alfresco scene on the huge outdoor patio.
