We had dinner here this evening and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food was quite tasty and I will definitely go back. We had the mussels for an appetizer and our entrees were a procini mushroom risotto and the cavatelli with tomotoes, arugula, basil, garlic and cheese. YUMMY!!! We finished off the evening with some latte and hazelnut gelato. The presentation of the gelato was beautiful. Glad to have this in our neighborhood and we hope it's around for a long time.

My friend and I have been back many times. We are always seated within a few minutes. Our waiter immediately greets us. Specials are always given, and have always been fabulous. The desserts are light and delicious. We always look forward to our next visit.

Went here with my girlfriend Sunday night, and had an awesome meal. Calamri app. was perfect, and I loved the lobster fettuccini. My girlfriend had the grilled salmon, whicj she loved. It did take a while to get the check after we finished, but I will be heading back soon. Great value!

My experience began well enough we were seated promptly and our waiter approached us almost immediatly with our menus and was very friendly. After spending several minutes choosing our courses our waiter was no where to be found he emerged after about fifteen minutes and apologized for the delay. I ordered the daily special which included an appetizer a main course and dessert. the appetizer was a great caprese salad which although very small tasted fresh and had a small drizzle of a wonderful balsamic vinegar. After our appetizer we had to wait another extended period of time to receive our entrees, mine consisted of ribeye and a mushroom risotto with sauteed string beans. Their idea of portion control is ridiculous my plate had a single quarter inch slice of ribeye and a spoonful of risotto as well as some underdone string beans. Needless to say I finished my meal rather quickly however had to suffer through another substantial wait to get dessert. It was a cheescake which looked incredible on the plate but was frozen in the center. Then came the longest wait of all for our check, at least 20 minutes, when our waiter arrived he explained they had some large parties in their "reserved area" however it hardly sounded like a reasonable excuse for shabby service and mediocre entrees. The bill was not small especially when considering the quality and portion of the food. With all the competition this restaurant has in the neighborhood it only delivers questionable service with ok food at a terrible value.

Unfortunately we had to wait a while for our waiter. He told us he was really busy. If it was busy I would accept it, but not even half of the restaurant was full. When he finally comes over you can tell he feels bad and he tries to make it 'better'. Yeah right, his jokes were weird and sometimes even rude. But ok, he's a waiter not a comedian, so let's forget about that. Then to sum it all up: the dishes didn't came out all at the same time(soo annoying), he served the wrong dish to the wrong people (we had a large party), a dish came out we didn't order, the food was o-k and while we were eating this busboy was hovering around our table, waiting for us to finish a dish so he had some work to do too. Sorry but I'm not going back.

Trattoria Trullo is a terrific place for Italian food in bustling Lincoln Square. It has a full bar and a welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent. For wines, the Ruffino Chianti is a great buy at $20.
Sit in the interior, roomy back room in cold weather, as the front windows can be drafty.

Great food and punctual service make Trattoria Trullo an excellent place to stop for a quick lunch. If you want a wider variety of choices be sure to ask for the dinner menu.

This place is a great place to go eat in Lincoln Square. Big, open, atmosphere that doesn't get too loud when busy and is a romantic place for a date and good for family dinners. Food backs up the ambience and I think the value is there, although some of the pasta dishes and specials were a little bit on the pricey side. Overall, the place is a great place with very good dishes that would give any enthusiast of Italian restaurants a good place to eat.

I went here with two friends for dessert. I ordered the flourless chocolate cake, while a friend of mine had tiramisu and the other decided on the hazelnut gelato. The waitress told me that the flourless chocolate cake was a special favorite of hers.
It is pretty clear to me that she has never had flourless chocolate cake. What was put on a plate and served to me was a previously frozen chocolate lava cake. I should know, I've bought the same package from Trader Joe's.
My friend's tiramisu tasted like cool whip with pieces of cake. The gelato was decent.
In all, save yourself from the disappointment and go down the square for dessert.

I got the special risotto with lobster and shrimp. There were 3 pieces of seafood, and the risotto tasted like chicken broth. My stomach turned, and I'm not a picky eater. They had an abundance of wait staff who were more intimidating than accommodating. It felt like we were being rushed as the waitress interrupted rudely to command attention to her specials. The crab cake appetizer was excellent and redeeming, but the portions very small. The calamari was also better than some I've tasted.
