Frescos, columns, draped fabric and warm lighting create the ambience of a tiny restaurant in Rome at this Old Town spot that claims to be the city's first trattoria, established in 1985. A primarily young, urban crowd gathers here for the weekend wine bar, pizza or romantic dinners. The handwritten menu changes daily, but always includes specialties such as Rolli alla Trattoria (tricolor pasta layered with ricotta cheese, ham and spinach, and served with a tomato and four-cheese sauce). Rather stay at home? Trattoria Roma has a wide delivery area, or you can call ahead for a carryout.
