Absolutely Delicious!

I've been to Trattoria No. 10 many times for lunches, dinner before the theatre, dates and to take advantage of the fabulous dinner buffet. The service is always impeccable and the food is amazing. It's hard for me to stray from the pastas but I have had the wagu beef before and have never tasted anything like it. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and will continue to enjoy their food at every opportunity. This place is truly a treat!

Disappointing Food
By JLaSal from Edgewater, September 3, 2008

The ambiance is great; the location, ideal...the food, not so much. The risotto tasted like it came from a box, and even the ravioli w/ asparagus and the homemade minestrone lacked flavor. We loved the idea of a pre-theatre Italian place tucked away in the basement, but, unfortunately, the food should be tucked away too. Never returning.

Top five pasta dishes ever
By doctorbeef from wicker park, July 30, 2008

Went to Trattoria 10 pre-theater with 3 others. Everybody walked away raving about their food. I had the shrimp with fettucini. The pasta was PERFECT, and there was actually vitually no sauce. Finally, a restaurant who understands that the flavor of pasta can be satisfying enough. The only minus was our waiter...seemed to have a bit of an attitude.

CHICAGO'S HIDDEN GEM!!
By Killerchic2 from Lincoln Square, July 16, 2008

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of Italian and have tried several downtown restaurants with nothing in comparison. The soup, salad, and my butternut squash ravioli was amazing as was the wagu beef my boyfriend had. Truly an intimate, romantic setting and very reasonably priced for downtown. Anyone who would call this pricey is not from around here. I have since been back numerous times to eat before different musicals and plays and have had the same excellent experience. If you haven't been it's a definite must!!

Nice atmosphere, food very second-rate
By lewbarr from jefferson Park, January 12, 2008

The cheese on our salads was soggy. Dressing bland.
Salmon overcooked.
Dessert cookies tasted like cheap grocery store cookies.
Service was fine but at these prices (at any price) food was really unacceptable.

Outstanding for 20 years
By Kat from Old Town, December 26, 2007

I have no idea how anyone could give this restaurant anything but the highest marks. For 20 years, it has been delivering consistenly good food, service and atmosphere. Get there before February for the AMAZING lobster ravioli available only during the holidays and only as long as they can get fresh lobster daily. I wait for it each year. This is a top notch restaurant for business or social events.

Take a Pass
By Annie from Beverly, December 7, 2007

My husband and I dined here based on metromix reviews and were VERY disappointed. The food was good but portions were laughable and prices were too steep. Also, instead of feeling romantic and cozy, I thought it was pretentious and stuffy. There are so many other great Italian restaurants in Chicago....try one of those!

A great downtown Italian place...

A great downtown Italian place - good to bring your out of town guests. The best deal is the bar food at happy hour. All you can eat buffet style of great dishes. Sit down dinner is excellent, though a bit pricey.

Pasta dishes were truly excellent....
By Linda S. from Chicago, IL, October 26, 2006

Pasta dishes were truly excellent. Seafood a little overdone. Service was very good considering we were a large party. Only other negative was when reservation was made. Very pushy event hostess wanted us to book a private room and not order off menu like we wanted. We stood our ground and all was well.

My boyfriend and I went...
By Grace S. from Chicago, IL, October 1, 2006

My boyfriend and I went to Trattoria for our 6 month anniversary. It was great. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. You start out by going down 2 sets of stairs, and are delightfully greeted by the hosts. Even when I called for my reservation, I was impressed with how friendly they were. Our waiter was great, too. She was very helpful but didn't crowd us too much or bother us about anything. The food was amazing. Great ravioli, I would go back there every night for that ravioli. My meal was about $15. Go to Trattoria No. 10 for a romantic, quiet, delicious meal.
