Just called to make a reservation for my boss and the woman who answered the phone was short, curt and obviously distracted with something more important than talking to me. I was thinking about trying this place out as well, but good customer service to to me is not negotiable. When I told her the last name for the reservation & attempted to spell it, she snapped, "I CAN SPELL THAT!" Don't care how good the food is, no thank you.

Food was great but service was poor. Heard host fighting w/ a customer who did not hear his name called and was scratched off the list. Host was not apologetic at all. Waiter not attentive. Ambiance was good. Conversation-friendly. A bit cramped. Bathroom was dirty. Good prices for food portions.

What a great place to go out to dinner. The food and atmosphere were both great. The Antipasto bar was killer. In my opinion one of the best Italian joints in the city

When I go for Italian, I measure it by the tortellini in brodo. The tortellini in brodo at Topo Gigio was outstanding. The brodo had a nice body and flavor, the tortellini were fantastic and the spinach very nicely done. The service, I felt was good. The waiters were not constantly hovering, but the drinks and food came in a timely manner and we never had to wait.
Definitely a place I plan on frequenting.

The food was terrific, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. The calamari was lightly breaded and tender, and I thoroughly enjoyed the farfalle with salmon, which was also fresh and tender. The service was very welcoming. In fact, when we advised our host of a rude ordeal at another restaurant in the area, they surprised us with a complimentary limoncello. The only complaint I can make is that the tiramisu was strangely soupy, but there are plenty of other reasons to visit this restaurant.

A little slow getting a table, but it was well worth it. Great food! Great people watching!
Good times had by all.

This is a wonderful restaurant. We dined on a cold, drippy Monday and couldn't have felt more cozy in a dining room, even though this one, sparsely settled at 5 p.m. when we entered was jam packed at 6:45 when we left. We're probably snobs when it comes to Italian, and we were delighted with our appetizers, main course and dessert. Try the Linguine Vic Damone with clams, cherry tomatoes and - get this - cilantro. Fabulous. Best tira massou we've ever had, an intelligent, friendly and helpufl waiter, great wine list, and excellent prices. Go.

Report This ReviewWe had a bad experience at Topo Gigio. We had reservations at 830 and were not sat until 930!! The service was slow and the food was ok. Unfortunately, not a place I would go back to!
