The folks behind Follia built this new rustic Italian spot in Wicker Park on land previously occupied by a McDonald's. Two wood-burning ovens churn out pizzas, and there's a wine-friendly menu of appetizers, house-made pasta and more. Expect selections such as pizza with goat cheese and black truffles, a prosciutto-, pomodoro- and mozzarella-stuffed calzone, pappardelle with tomatoes and basil, and thinly sliced New York strip with arugula and parmigiano-reggiano. With dishes topping out at $20, the menu here is easier on the wallet than Follia's, but like Follia, Tocco has an arty focus. Look for alfresco fashion shows and more outdoor activities in the summer.
