I've been eating Gino's pizza since the 70's and what they are serving today is complete junk. The name Gino's should be taken down and retired. If only people today could have the pizza that really made Chicago famous for pizza. It seems once the original owners are gone, the corporations take over a cheapen the product.

I went there with my girlfriend last weekend and was a little leery after reading the horrible reviews on Metromix. However, the deep dish pizza was great, our waitress was friendly and attentive; the only "dirty" things in the restaurant were the walls, where everyone writes things. If that's what creeped out the previous reviewers, they're ridiculous.
My only complaint would be that the host & hostess were completely clueless, unhelpful, and very rude. Luckily, we got there early (6:30) and did not have to wait long. I strongly recommend arriving early, so you can avoid having to deal with their rudeness. It's clear that they know the restaurant will fill up even if their bad attitude turns away 1/2 of the people that show up. That's too bad, because it would otherwise be a great place to visit more often.
