Tarantino's: User Reviews
We tried this place out after having walked by it for months and it was a nice dinner. The food can be on the expensive side, but the quality was up there. The truffle fries were fantastic, and the hearts of palm salad was refreshing. The server was extremely polite and helpful with picking out dishes. The ambiance is very home-y, and a nice place to take a date or a small family gathering. Make reservations though - it's tiny!

Definitely one of my favorite spots in Lincoln Park. Weekend or week night it never disappoints. The perfect place for a first date, not too assuming or like you're trying too hard, but elegent. The food is great, I recommend whatever the Risotto special is that night. You can’t go wrong with Tarantino’s.

Well i have been living in the Lincoln Park Area since i was born and tarantino's was introduced by my uncle and his wife. I had drove past it many times in my life and had never thought to go because it looks like every other restaurant in the area (low key location). Well back to the story so we went to the restaurant and had a great meal. The best thing on the menu is the Rigatoni, ITS TO DIE FOR!!!! I some times have dreams about it, also the heart of palm salad is good but that hard to mess up. The wine is good, don't go with the expensive stuff because if you ever find it at a liquor store you would be shocked at the price v.s. what the restaurant is try to charge you. overall one of my favorite restaurants to go to and have some good food and wine and this is coming from a picky chicago'en. also don't let them park your car because it is so easy to find parking and you don't want to pay them $10 to park your car across the street from the restaurant!!

I have been to this place twice and the first time was great - but the second time (with a group of 10 people I brought), was terrible. The food was mediocre at best, the waitress overcharged us by $20, and as we were figuring out why the bill was wrong, the owner asked us to get up and figure the bill out elsewhere because he had another group waiting for the table! Not only had we only been at the table for an hour and a half but we had spent $400 there - clearly a tactless, ignorant staff and owner decided for us that we
will never be back again and we will do all we can to warn others about the experience as well.
We like this place for entertaining out of town guests. Everyone who works here is nice and accommodating, and the there is a good variety on the menu. Check out the guns on the bartender.
Report This ReviewNot living in the area, I rarely get to visit this one time gem. It's been a few years since our last vist, and we were very excited. Sadly we arrived to find that the staff had completely changed. Although the food was adequate, we missed the family feel the old staff provided. No offense, but we probably won't be back.
Report This ReviewWalking in I thought the restaurant was going to be terrific. I was so wrong! The waiter was the worst waiter I have ever had in my life. The appetizers were cold and when we asked for a manager the owner came over to the table and never apologized. All he had to say was, "I just had the same appetizer and mine was just fine." I dine out at least 3 to 4 times a week and have never had such a terrible experience.
Report This ReviewI fell in love with the Mushroom Risotto last night. I couldn't help myself. & our server extraordinairre, Thomas, was exceptional.
