Nostalgia buffs will get a kick out of the "`Roaring Twenties'' look of this place. With its mirrored bar, warm cherrywood decor, ceiling fans and art deco lights, this joint harkens back to the good old Chicago speakeasy days. Pizano's doesn't, however, live totally in the past. Sport fans know they're still in the now when they glance at the walls covered with photos of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Mike Ditka, Walter Payton and many others. Owner Rudy Malnati Jr., whose father started the Chicago-style pizza trend at Pizzeria Uno's and Pizzeria Due's, is using Malnati senior's secret recipe in hopes of making his pizza part of the "gotta-have-it" food craze.
