Always a good time!

I live in West Lake View and always have a great time when I go to Piazza Bella. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is consistently good. They also have a great selection of wines and reasonable prices. It is so nice to have something other than another bar in the neighborhood.

GREAT Service (well kinda) and Good Food

My husband and I have been going to PB for years. I have to say we were nervous about the new ownership, but nothing has changed on the menu, prices up a little but thats everywhere.
Our last three experiences were the BEST (except one thing...I'll get to that later). WE have had the same server and she is so friendly, attentive, knows the menu and has a great sense of humor . I cannot remember her name but she is on the newer side of the restaurant, wears blondish brown hair up. Most of the time we let her order for us!
The reason for the one star for ambiance is because of the blonde bimbo behind the bar. She was the most unpleasant people we have ever seen. She makes you feel unwelcome and gives dirty looks to everyone. We came to realize that our drinks ( and we love to have may drinks) took so long to get to our table, not because of the server (who we love) but because she is on her phone nehind the bar talking, texting while ALL of the servers are standing there waiting for their drinks.
Piazza Bella-get rid of the LAZY stripper behingd you bar and everything else is perfect!

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were very friendly and extremely attentive. Our food was excellent especially tasty was the chicken parmigiana. They had a great selection of wine and the cozy ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening.

Great dinner and attentive service

I wanted to check this place in Roscoe Village with my roommate. The reviews were not good so I was prepared to wait and be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of our server. The drinks were never empty, our food was delicious. We picked a low-end bottled Red $30.00 and I had the Pollo Limone (w/ capers). The portion was just right, I took some home!! My roomie got the Chicken and eggplant. It looked so good I'll have it next time!

There was also a harpist (we went late on a Tuesday). The night was great. We watched the Sox make it in the playoffs.

The best place in the city for a private party
By roscoeman from roscoe, September 15, 2008

I had my rehearsal dinner at Piazza Bella a few weeks ago, and let me say the best best best!

We were able to reserve an entire side of the restaurant without a room charge. The chef and their party planner discussed every detail form menu- wine and drinks to flowers- they actually organized the flowers for us again at no cost to us (except for the flowers of course).

The management surprised us with a champagne toast for all of our guests, and we were allowed to stay way past the room reservation.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

Excellent Food!!!

I have lived in Roscoe Village for the past 3 1/2 years. I visit this place a couple times a week. I have always had an excellent meal and the food is fantastic! I wanted to have my Mom's 65th Birthday party there and they put on a 1st class display. They arranged for a jazz band to play while we were eating and all of our guests raved about the food and service. My Mom said it was the BEST Birthday she has ever had. I love this place and would recommend it to everyone!!!

Extremely disappointed!!
By kimbermey from Roscoe Village, July 26, 2008

We just received a delivery order from Piazza Bella and were extremely disappointed at the value received for our money. It seems since new management has taken over from the previous owner, the quality of the food has declined and the pricing has skyrocketed. The pricing of the menu items do not even match what is posted on the menu pop up from Metromix. The former owners added little touches to make your meal complete i.e. crusty bread, now you must pay $1 for a smaller portion. It is sad to see such a wonderful neighborhood establishment go downhill. I sincerely hope that the new management takes notice to the numerous bad reviews and gets their act together.

Horrific experience!!!

My girlfriend and I just recently went with a group of friends for dinner. The restaurant was only about half full. We waited about 20 minutes before our server came over to greet us and take our drink order. We waited another 1/2 hour before we received our appetizers. Two of the people in our group ordered lasagna as their entrees and they middle was ice cold. What looked like the chef was walking around the restaurant talking to the bartender. Maybe he should have been controlling his kitchen. This was our first time here and also our last!! The whole experience was horrible and this place just lost 10 potential new customers.

I'd go back!
By Drew from Lincoln Park, June 16, 2008

I recently dined at Piazza Bella with a large group for a friends birthday party. Having never been before, I didn't know what to expect but I have to say I was impressed. We had a nice table near the back of the restaurant which was set up and waiting. Obviously reservations were made. It's a beautiful restaurant on a nice stretch of Roscoe. While I didn't sit at the bar, it looked inviting. The food was better than average. Since we were such a large party, we were served family style with a multitude of dishes. The fried calamari was delicious as was the penne in a red cream sauce. I had the lemon chicken, which was just ok. The service was excellent. Our waitress was on top of everything. And considering that we had so many people, that's not an easy task. It seemed like everyone involved in the service was very happy to have a large group. The only qualm I have is that it seemed a little pricy. But with everyone having at least one drink, the bill grew fast. Overall, I thought that it was a great new find and I'll surely be back!
