NEVER AGAIN
By alley from Roscoe Village, April 25, 2009

We live in the neighborhood and try to support local businesses. BUT we've had it with Pete's. We gave up on the dining room after multiple experiences where the hostess was downright rude & the service mediocre.
We continued to order delivery & pickup occasionally because the pizza is decent (the sandwiches...not so much...) but when we showed up at the appointed time (an hour for pickup!) the other night they had no record of our order. Enough is finally enough, we should have given up on Pete's a long time ago.

Don't waste you money or time here

I recently went to Pete's pizza with a group of friends. The second we walked through the door our waitress started acting rude to us. It took her 15 minutes to stop talking to her coworkers and come take our order. Our drinks were empty for at least 15 minutes before she came back to ask us if we wanted refills. We ordered one pizza on a weekday around 5pm (the place had only one table filled besides ours) yet it took them more than an hour to make one lousy pizza. At the end of our meal we left that place never to return again, and we also left the waitress a tip she truly deserved, a penny.

Drastic increase in price
By Jen from Bucktown, July 24, 2008

I recently dined here with my family. We were extremely disappointed to see their drastic increase in price. This restaurant is very child friendly, and as other parents may agree, that is a very rare find in the city. While looking at the menu, we could not believe that 8 chicken wings were almost $10. We ordered these and they were nothing to write home about (very small and hardly any sauce). Definetly not worth $10. Also, their small stuffed pizza went up by $4. We think that $15.99 for a small 10 inch one topping pizza is a little high. We don't think that the quality of the food is worth the price and we will not be returning anytime soon. They have made their restaurant completely unaffordable for families. Don't waste your time.

Great Pizza

My girlfriend is almost impossible to make happy with a pizza order. This is the only place we can agree on having fantastic pizza. I have eaten there and will never do that again, the service is bad. The people are rude and less the inteligent on the phone when you order. Just bring patience to the process and you will do fine. We always get the stuffed pizza and for around $20, we eat two meals each. $20 will get a medium(8 slices) two topping stuffed pizza delivered to your door nice and hot. Not bad, but this doesn't include tip. That being said, anyone who has lived in Chicago for 30 yrs like myself and loves pizza knows how great a deal that is. Pasta dishes are also very good, just on the simple side.

Our pizza was good but the service was Awful. Our stone-faced server took forever and a day to do anything for us, but she sure had time to stand in the corner and laugh with her coworkers. Sorry I had to get up and interrupt social hour to ask for some parmesan. Don't come for the drinks either..... my wife's martini glass was literally half empty when we got it, neither the server nor the bartender knew if barbera was red or white wine (and this is an Italian place? come on!) and my friend's "scotch on the rocks" was literally once ounce/shot of scotch in the bottom of a glass full of ice. We complained to "management" who rolled her eyes and rudely informed us "that's the way we serve drinks here." Need I say more? We will never return to this place. Go to Gulliver's on Howard if you want real drinks, food, and service.
