THE place for pizza on Wednesday nights
By Dave in Lincoln Park from Lincoln Park, February 28, 2008

My roommate and I first went to O'Fame on the suggestion of a friend and we had a very good meal (large thin crust pizza) while dining in. The atmosphere is so so and the service was as expected. The pizza is where O'Fame really shines. Just about every week now, we order pizza for take-out due to their 1/2 pizza deal (dine-in or carry out only). It cannot be beat. Their thin-crust is great, deep-dish is decent, but the pan pizza is the absolute best type of crust they serve. The dough is soft and flaky, but the crust has just the right about of crunch. The sauce they use is a bit on the lighter side in terms of taste, but very fresh. They use fresh ingredients and haven't had a bad meal with them. I'll have to head down there soon for one of their other meals.

Great Delivery/Carryout Service
By Nikki from bucktown, February 15, 2008

Eating at home while enjoying homecooked meals is a must for this busy gal. I really enjoy the variety fo O'fame's pasta dishes accompanied by a fresh antipasto salad. When I know what I want for dinner I can actually call it in early and have it ready at a specific time. Whether I'm picking it up or having it delivered, I have always received it packaged perfectly. They are truly my second kitchen.

Best family style italian in the city
By Drew from Lincoln Park, December 28, 2007

Easily my favorite italian place in the city. I've been going here for about 10 years, if not more. The best thin crust pizza in the city, I don't care what anyone says. Sausage that's to die for! While it's not 5 star italian (I wouldn't get veal here, if they have it), it's easily the best place to get a good chicken parmesan or other great pastas. Their red sauce is amazing, I could eat that with bread alone. Good take out or eat in. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Authentic Italian food

Recently started going to O'Fame.... Love their signature Steak O'Fame (very tasty) and their Lasagna is also excellent with meat sauce (generous portions). My favorite treat (dinner) is their O'Fame salad and a thin crust, garlic, oil, tomato and fresh basil pizza... mmmmmmm

Appreciative Out of Towners
By skinny from taylor street, December 13, 2007

When stopping for Italian food and not knowing the neighborhood, my boyfriend & I were pleasantly surprised. It was cold outside but very friendly and warm inside this well kept establishment. The owner greeted us and recommended the house O'fame salad and a generous portion of Lasagna, which we could share. The tiramisu was better than I have tasted elsewhere. The wine list provided more than enough choices and price points. What a good find!!!! No wonder they've lasted so long.

Watched the delivery guy sit...

Watched the delivery guy sit in his car on his cell phone for a good ten minutes (literally) before coming to our door with the pizza. Ordered wheat crust, got white. Ordered Sausage on half... came sprinkled all over. Vegetarian GF was disgusted (but at least I got the whole thing to myself). This place has drastically declined in the customer service arena.

This place wasn't horrible, and although not expensive, it was by no means worth the price. The food was so so, and just can't hold a candle to the other great Italian places in the city. Also the service was pretty poor. It took forever to find our server after we sat down, and she rarely returned. The busboys did a great job, and were very attentive, hopefully our waitress tipped them out fairly

Although I love the pizza...
By Disappointed from Chicago, IL, March 7, 2007

Although I love the pizza when I dine, delivery made me far from please with this place. I live 10 min away. I called at 5pm (not exactly prime time) and ordered a small thin crust. I was told this would be delivered w/in the hour. It arrived a full hour and a half later, and was COLD. I called to tell the manager I was currently heating my pizza in the oven, and instead of apologizing, he blames the delivery guy. Regardless of who is to blame, that is extremely unprofessional management. An apology was in order. $20 for a thin crust delivery... I believe that deserves better quality and better treatment.

This is a great find...

This is a great find in Lincoln Park. It is incredibly reasonable (given the location! I knew it would be good when we walked in and it smelled like my Nana's house (I'm Italian). The house chianti is beyond drinkable and a steal at $4 per glass. We had the house salad and a large thin-crust pizza. The salad was really fresh with just the right amount of dressing, and the pizza was so good - a perfect proportion of sauce to cheese. And the staff was so friendly and unpretentious. We'll be back for sure!

What a great neighborhood restaurant...
By Ellen Heinrich from chicago, il, October 15, 2006

What a great neighborhood restaurant to have really good Italian food. You don't find many family owned places in this expensive area, and the owner is on site most visits! My favorites are the fried calamari, antipasto salad, eggplant parmigiano (ask for little cheese to cut the calories) and steak pizziola - it's made with filet mignon. In fact, it's better to share so you get to taste more. The pizza is good for ordering at home but I enjoy the dine in experience.
