Mia Francesca: User Reviews
I would say that Mia has gone down hill but it isn't even close to the hill anymore. Would someone please explain why at 8:50, 10 tables are held open for 9:00 reservations when there is a table of 2 standing in front of you hungry and thirsty on the Saturday night before Easter? Obviously a table of 2 without a reservations should be seated immediately especially when at least 4 tables in plain view of the host-stand are paying their bills. Worse was the tone of the "host's" voice explaining that he would rather have the tables open for the reservations than to seat 2 hungry and thirsty patrons. Mia - you're not all that and a bag of chips anymore. There are plenty of really good italian restaurants in this City.
Report This ReviewGreat food, excellent staff and a fun atmosphere tho maybe a bit noisy at times. I always take out of town guests here. Not like any other Italian restaurant in Chicago.
Report This ReviewAtmosphere and service were great, food left much to be desired. So many good Italian restaurants in the city, this is definitely not one of them.
Report This ReviewI positively LOVE this place. As has previously been said, anyone who had a bad meal must have had a bit of tough luck, because everything I've tried here has been fantastic. Yes, it is a bit too loud, and yes, it is rather crowded, but if they had bad food, why would they be so crowded all the time?
Report This ReviewI was very disappointed in this restaurant. We started with the calamari, which was, at best, ok. I had the sea scallop dinner which was burnt. My boyfriend had a spaghetti dish that was not very good either. The pasta was over cooked and the seafood in it was 'eh'. I will not return and cannot recommend.
Report This ReviewMia'a the the best place ever!!! I have been back again and again and have always had a great meal. We had a good bottle of wine and great food. I will keep coming back!!!
Report This ReviewMy husband and I finally decided to try Mia since a lot of hype surrounds this establishment. I must admit I don't understand all the praise it gets. The service was ok, the music was way too loud, and the tables are so close together that I had to constantly try to block out the conversations around me so I could hear my husband. The most disappointing aspect was the food. Bland....puts the nail on the head. After taking the first bite, I wanted to ask what sort of jar the sauce came out of. Sorry loyal Chicagoans, there are plenty of better Italian restaurants in the city!
Report This ReviewI have no idea why people like this place-It is so small, crowded, loud and the food is nothing spectacular-Menu is small as well-I was ready to leave when I sat down, but decided to give it a try, and will never eat here again-
Report This ReviewI love this restaurant, the food and atmostphere remind me of being in Italy. The food is awesome, best calamari in Chicago.
