Maggiano's Little Italy: User Reviews
Dowtown Chicago Italian! Fun and exciting. Walking in imediatly there was a new face to this old charm. A brand new full bar with full dinning or hightop tables for lounging and drinking. Two tvs always playing Sox or Cubs games. Spacious tallback black booths filling the whole back wall. Food was large and very complex, our wiater explained about 10 ingrediants alone in there fresh marinaria. Piano and guests singing along right at the corner of clark and grand. Grat steaks and classic italian cuisine. Service was fast and detailed. Grat place to dine as if your Frank Sinatra.

The food was great and we didn't have to wait long for it either. We were kept supplied in freah bread and drinks. Seating was a little cramped. They do serve large protions, so if you like to eat...this is your place!

This is a chain, and you'll be happy if you go in expecting chain-quality food. The food is Americanized and portions are ginormous, which is a turn-off to me. I'd rather pay less, get smaller portions and be able to sample more courses. If you want authentic Italian, take a drive down Grand or go to Little Italy, like other reviewers have suggested. If on the other hand you want mall-quality very average food with ingredients that came from cans rather than the farm, stand you might like this.

I have eaten at other Maggionos and been happy with food and service. This place is misreable in all respects. The experience and food was so bad I have no desire to go back to any of them.

This place is not worth the money. Many other better Italian restaurants in Chicago. I will not go back. I will go to Bucca or Taylor St. where you get what you pay for!

CAUTION: DO NOT EAT HERE! BAD SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD! If you are looking for authentic Italian...I would go to Bella Notte on Grand. That is true Italian restaurant, not a knock off like Maggiano's!
Report This Reviewfood is very good. However, they pack people in a tiny table. The waiter spill a glass of ice water on my lap. it was below zero out side. service sucks!
Report This ReviewWe just had dinner here last night and were very pleased with the service, food and atmosphere. Our server was great and very helpful. We ordered 1/2 orders because they are even too much food for the average eater. The bread basket was good and served with olive oil. You will be well fed here, great flavors and food!
Report This ReviewApparently Maggiano's does not understand the concept of a reservation. We made reservations for a table at 6:30pm and were there on time for our reservation. We waited over a half an hour before a table became available. Also...one person in our party was in a wheelchair and I must say that the tables are so packed in there and space is tight that driving a wheelchair thru was very tight and we had to disturbe numerous people on our way in and out so that we could get thru. Food was good, but the wait for a reservation and the difficulties with the wheelchair made our night only okay.....
Report This ReviewI have been here a number of times yet I always leave disappointed. The food is not all that good nor is the service. I would much rather dine at Carmines on Rush or Club Lago.
