Macello is temporarily closed due to fire.

This rustic Italian restaurant and market/deli located in the Warehouse District offers an airy dining room with wood beams, exposed brick, and two wood-burning ovens. The menu features pizza biana ciccio, with tomatoes, arugula and ricotta salata; linguine with mixed seafood in a spicy cherry tomato sauce; and panzerotti stuffed with ricotta cheese and raisins. The butcher shop inspired market stocks cured meats, cheese and foodstuffs from Puglia (the “boot heel” of Italy). The folks from Lincoln Square’s Trattoria Trullo are behind the spot, whose name translates to “slaughterhouse” -- appropriate because the building housed a slaughterhouse in the 1920s.
