La Trattoria Del Merlo
- Neighborhood: Sheffield/De Paul
- 1967 N. Halsted St.
- Chicago, IL 60614-5074
- 312-951-8200
Luisa Silvia Marani and Giampaolo Sassi, the couple behind La Salumeria Del Merlo and Merlo on Maple, are also behind this Lincoln Park trattoria, though it's quite different from the other Merlo outposts. Look for reasonably priced Bolognese comfort food, including handmade pasta such as spaghetti and cavatelli with authentic Bolognese sauces. There are two dining rooms upstairs, and on the lower level, you'll find a 16-seat private dining room featuring views of the restaurant’s glassed-in wine cellar.
