Best Italian in Oak Park? A posting from Wicker Park? I am concerned some of the previous reviews have come from employees or management. La Bella is a nice place. They do a nice job. The service is nice. But it is not outstanding. We visited on a warm October night and found the experience to be pleasant. Not worth a drive from Wicker Park or anywhere else in the city. It's a nice, local joint for when you are too tired to cook. Nothing more, nothing less.

I found this restaurant on metromix and had a very enjoyable dinner with 2 friends from out of town. We do have great Italian in Chicago and the food was not necessarily the best I have had, but it was still delicious and the atmosphere, price, and service made this a great choice.

Now, with the much smaller location, you have to make a reservation. But the kitchen continues to cook some of the best Italian food in Chicagoland. Always good service and well-priced for the genrous servings.

The atmosphere and service is great here. The lemon chicken was surprisingly salty, however and my meat sauce for the pasta had hardly any meat. La Bella is good, but I'm still in search of a phenomenal Italian restaurant....
