My first and last visit here was terrible. It took forever to get our food, and then when it came out, mine was ice cold, then they took it in back and microwaved it, and then when they brought it back, it had basically turned into soup. The waitress gave us a free appetizer and also gave us free dessert for our troubles. She was great and very understanding. I dine out a lot and this place is horrible.

We happened to stumble across this place last minute on a cold night. It seemed cozy but totally the opposite. Right away we felt like a burden. There were a couple of tables open but we still had to wait like 10 minutes. Ok, no prob. Our waiter kept staring at us along with a manager which made us feel unwanted. I had to basically flag our waiter down a couple of times by waiving both hands in the air where he could see them. The food was not horrible but not good either. I just ate it because i was starving. Everytime they would refill my soda they charged me. Totally overpriced for the quality of the food, along with the gazes and hisses from the staff. Never Again!

My wife selected this restaurant for dinner New Year's Eve.
Bad decision!!! We sat in the table right next to the window. A cold air draft kept my left foot COLD. My foot might as well have been hanging outside. Really it was that cold and I'm not a cold natured man. The draft was so strong that it felt like a small fan was blowing outside air into the building. The waitress was pleasant, but was not concerned in the least.
The food was average. We were charged for every soda and tea refill, as separate drinks on each occasion.
In general this restaurant is one of those that treats you like it is an honor to be in the place.

Ordered Osso Buco at server's suggestion. The meat was filled with gristle so it couldn't be swallowed. All of the meat was like that! No one capable of calling themselves a chef would have plated that meat. They knew the quality when they were cooking it.
My friend did like his fettucine dish with fresh vegetables. I tasted it and It was nicely seasoned.
Again, you don't send out a plate that you know is substandard if you want to be known as a good restaurant.

This was a GREAT surprise. We’ve lived in Old Town for over a year now, and have passed by Dinotto several times, but finally ventured in there when my mom came to visit. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Chicago in quite some time.
The food was delicious, and the atmosphere free of the pretension that marks some other places in Old Town. The proscuitto infused salad was awesome, and they even split it up three ways as none of us wanted a huge salad just for ourselves. Everyone really liked their entrees as well, with the Rotollo being the consensus favorite –really, one of the best Italian dishes we had tried in a long time.
The server was extremely friendly, and while he did make a mistake with one of the orders for a glass of wine, he quickly rectified that, and even gave us that glass on the house. What a noble concept…treating the customer as a friend, rather than a burden.
In sum, we loved it, and left wondering why there aren’t more restaurants that deliver similar quality, service and atmosphere.

We had a great experience here, there were 11 of us at dinner last night. We had no reservations and waiting at the outside bar with a few drinks. We were supposed to wait 20 minutes but were sat within 10 minutes (or less) and it was great. Our server, TOTO, was knowlegeable about the food and helped us out with many great choices. She even made my boyfriend a special dish that wasn't on their menu. at the end, they bought us two desserts because she heard us talking about the birthdays. I love this place, we'll be back many more times. Great Italian spot here.

I brought a party of 10 to the restaurant and we had the WORST dining experience of our lives. Several of the dishes were returned to the kitchen for a number of problems. The owner of the restaurant was so rude to us. Don't bother. There are lots of great Italian places in the city - this place is a definately miss.
