Caro Mio is everything you'd want in a romantic little Italian ristorante. From its inconspicuous location under the "L" tracks to the candlelit dining room and dark red walls, it's no wonder that marriage proposals are a common event here. Family owned and operated since 2000, this BYOB spot features Italian cuisine like Nonna used to make. The menu is not specific to any one region of Italy, featuring pastas, seafood, chicken and meat dishes from all over the country. The gnocchi gratinato in a Bolognese sauce baked with mozzarella cheese is a hearty favorite, as are the four risottos – gamberi, Milanese, funghi porcini and gorgonzola. Reserve their private party room for special events, and be sure to get there early on weekends, as they only take reservations for parties of six or more. No corkage fee.
