MY OPINION

Went to Capriccios for the music of my friends band "2ofUS" and thought I would arrive early and have dinner. The service, the dinner and the of the upper staff was unsatisfactory. I ordered the Agagosta Thermidor ($35 I might add) and there was absolutely no taste what so ever. The so called sauce tasted as if it was just the water used to steam the seafood and asparagus. My family is from the de Marche region in Italy which is near Tuscany and I can tell you the owners and head chef should take a reality check. I wanted to bring my son that evening. Glad I did not as he studies at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. and is serving his winter internship at the Boca Raton Resort. The best however was the band. These guys took away an unpleasant evening!

My wife and I have been visiting this restaurant for 7 years. We have always found the food to be excellent. Many times they have prepared something for us that is not on the menu and the service has almost always been second to none (ask for Mario).

Well, I have to say...

Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I figured - old style Italian place on the Davie/Pem Pines border - how good could it be? Well...it was pretty good! My first impression was positive, as the bartender in the back bar graciously turned off the Michael Bolton CD at my request and put on some Jazz. The Martinis he served us were some of the best I have tasted.
The restaurant itself was nice... a bit noisy, but fun. The food, although a bit old fashioned, was tasty and fresh. The antipasto and salads were nicely prepared and everyone liked their entrees. The service was very good, as our waiter was back again and again to see how things were going and to re-fill the wine glasses.
If you're up for an old-style, non-yuppified restaurant that serves good, solid food and has killer Martinis - try Capriccio.
