Great Pizza and wonderful beer selection. Certainly among some of the best pizza I have had in Chicago. A friend and I had the Popeye for our main course and the Goat Cheese dip as a starter--both were great. Friendly service--will be back!

Definitely hit this place up in the winter (it's in a basement) for some fine beers (la fin du monde, delirium, chimay, etc.) and crispy thin crust specialty pizzas. The ambiance is nice and dark, and even the rock/blues/jazz playlist was top notch.

My boyfriend and I were referred to this place by a friend who knows we do not care for Chicago style pizza. We went for the first time last night and the pizza was amazing. We ordered the "Painful" with spicy pepperoni, jalapenos, and onion. It was to die for. We ate an entire large together. The $4 fat tire on Thursdays is nice as well!. We will be returning.

I'm not a huge deep dish fan, and neither are most of the people I know. I want a pizza that aims for my taste buds, not for my arteries (though, pizza is pizza, and it will all clog your arteries, just to varying extents). Brick oven pizza is the way to go for me.
I've been to Bricks three times now and have loved each time. I usually go with one or two friends, and for two people (who, admittedly, eat a lot), a 14" is a good size to split and it will only run you about $20 ($10/person isn't bad for a night of good pizza). For normal human beings, the 12" is probably enough. You can split the pizza into two different styles so you can try out more of their delicious pizzas.
I don't recall all the styles I've had, but I've had the Painful, the Mean Green (pesto version of the Painful), the Popeye (I think that is what it was called), and a couple others. I love each one, but I love jalepenos and spicy food in general so the Painful is still my favorite.
I've been to Lou Malnati's (the best deep dish in Chicago), Gino's East (also good), and Giordano's (it's pizza, it's good), but I'd take Bricks over all these places in a heartbeat.

This place by far is my favorite place to get pizza in Chicago. My husband and I went here for the first time purely because it was the only place that served Fat Tire beer (back in the day) but keep coming back for the amazing pizza (love the sweet heat). Love the casual atmosphere and that staff is great. Keep going back again and again!

BBQ Chicken Pizza tasted better and better after each piece, it that's even possible. Exquisite flavors put a new spin on pizza--presentation and toppings. A must for all pizza lovers.

Went to Bricks for the first time and we loved it. It is very laid-back, dim, and casual - very Chicago. The hostess and our server were busy but still friendly. We enjoyed the Bricks lager and ceasar salad while waiting for our pizzas. The Bricks house pizza is wonderful and the pizza with their homemade meatballs is super yummy. Highly recommended.

After living in Chicago for 5 years I am still finding fun new places to eat. We sat at the bar and had some wonderful beers served by a very friendly bartender. This is not your average pizza, it is different and delicious.
Report This ReviewI'll admit it... I'm the biggest pizza snob you'll ever meet. But that's only b/c I'm from NY and that is where you will find the best pizza in the world, hands down. I moved to Chitown a fews months ago and was extremely dissapointed with this city's infamous "deep dish" style pizza (won't be seeing Gino's East again anytime soon). So I was on a mission... a mission to find some good pizza in this town... you could even say A mission from God. My faith was beginning to falter though... and then one day, after many failed pies in this city, I was recommended to Bricks. The wait for a seat was worth it b/c the beer was just so tasty. The pizza, while different in so many ways from what I grew up with, is a blessing unto itself. Now let's just work on the bagels and we'll be set Chicago. Until next time... jbex
