A MUST see for yourself!!!!!

Last weekend a group of us decided to try Bacchanalia. There was a total of 7 of us in our party. The ambiance was super as we felt very cozy. We started off with baked clams that were out of this world. We all tried differerent meals and each one was better then the next. One of our party wanted something that wasnt even on the menu and seeing as their food is made to order there was no problem what-so-ever. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We all agreed we would be coming back again very soon.

Bacchanalia is GREAT!!

We went to Bacchanalia before the circus with my entire family. The food was outstanding.
We had a wonderful order of fried calamari, tomato salad capres, and brushetta. Since there were 10 of us(4 children) I asked the waitress, Monica to order what she thought were the best entrees so we could share. Boy did she do a Great job. We wanted chicken so she suggested the chicken Bacchanalia, capellini marinara, eggplant parmigiana, and some penne and buttered noodles for the kids. We also added the great sauteed garlic spinach and best homemade fries in the entire Chicagoland area. Whenever we go to the city, Bacchanalia is a must. Monica is the greatest waitress, she is remarkable. Food unbeatable.

Invisible dinner guests

Not very many positives to report. Had a reservation on a Saturday night. The bartender was not engaging and unwilling to go out of her way to make even eye contact. The interior decor reminded me of the suburban Olive Garden.

After spending nearly 15 minutes in the dining room without a server, luckily the bus boy brought over water to tide over the time. Two other tables of 'regulars' were served before our table. The decision was made to move on to another restaurant in the neighborhood, and I suggest you do the same.

My husband and I have been eating here for over 10 yrs. EVERYTIME we dine there it is a guaranteed perfect evening. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. The food is out of this world, lasagne and chicken bacchanalia are two gotta haves. The canoli is a perfect ending and better than the tiramisu.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Every time I dine here I am blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. There is NO other place like this in the entire city. I travel all the way from the Northside just to eat here and my friends and I agree that it's well worth the drive. Try it...you won't be disappointed! *I strongly suggest trying the lasagna, gnocchi, and the tiramisu, (although everything is really wonderful). Their house chianti is delicious with dinner!*

My family and I have been going to Bacchanalia for years now and each time is better than the last! The authentic Italian food is to die for and the staff goes above and beyond their duty. The Pieri family truly treats you like you are one of their own. It is by far a gem that you'll want to discover for yourself!!

I have to believe we went to the wrong restaurant. Absolutely nothing we've read compares to the experience we had at Bacchanalia. The food was less than average, the authenticity was that out of a can, and the ambience did not remind me anything of Italy. I would strongly reccommend trying a decent place, Mia Francesca, Cara Mio, or Rose Angelis on the North Side rather than settling for this place. Move on.

Chicken Bacchanalia and Linguini with...
By Patty & Wendy from Chicago, IL, May 18, 2006

Chicken Bacchanalia and Linguini with Mussels in the red sauce is really something. They serve an excellent Whitefish that James Ward featured a couple of times as one of the best. The filet is surrounded by tons of sauteed mushrooms and the Lasagna is cheesy and creamy - made the old-fashion way with a bachamel sauce. Order a fired calamari (the tenderest I have tasted) for an appetizer and on the weeknights only they send out a plate of foccicca. They participate in Festa Pasta Vino on Father's Day Weekend. Something you should look into. Go to the booth in front of the restaurant and ask for Paula - she'll give you a coupon for a free pasta appetizer. She also has a cute young waitress (college student) who did an excellent job with our table. We were there on a Tuesday night and that seemed to be the right night.
