This family-owned Lakeview mainstay has been serving up traditional Italian cuisine trattoria-style since 1988. Executive chef Fred Ramos (Room 21, Gioco, Printers Row) came on board in 2008 and refreshed the menu but kept a lot of the beloved items around, including the daily hand-rolled ravioli. Other specialties include salssicia ethnica (spicy Italian sausage with pine nuts, golden raisins, a balsamic reduction and polenta) and fusilli con pollo (roasted chicken and spinach in spicy vodka-tomato cream sauce). Loyal neighborhood clientele flock to the warm, yellow-hued dining room for the Sunday champagne brunch and weeknight specials such as Tuesday's three-course prix-fixe menu.
