The restaurant in the Hotel Seneca has gone through a quiet transition. The Chestnut Bar and Grill and its downstairs space, the unfortunately named Under the Nut, have been replaced by this new supper club. The interior is now brighter, more light and open-feeling. The menu aims for crowd-pleasing, Italian-inflected comfort fare, like Mama Nonni Therea's Italian Wedding Soup, antipasti, an array of pastas, plus mid-priced burgers, chops and prime steaks. And, like the menu, the entertainment sticks to the standards: Look for a house band Wednesday through Saturday to serve a little Sinatra to go with your steaks. Tuesdays feature a solo keyboardist/vocalist.
