Wonderful!

Our first visit a few weeks ago and we are already craving their food! We will be returning soon. We had a great dining experience of flavors and service.
Loved the combo appetizer plate of kubbeh, pastels and hummus. Also had their falafel pita plate and felt it was the best I ever had. This is a small cafe style restaurant with no flair of style because they put it all into the food. Wonderful!

Can I Have Some More
By EmetHadavar from Skokie, April 26, 2008

This, in our humble opinion, is and has been the finest in Kosher dining available in the greater Chicago area + suburbs. The food is sumptuous and completely satisfying each and every time. It can, however, get expensive so those on a budget need to have some self-discipline. The restaurant is always clean and inviting. It can get a bit noisy at peak hours. The owner(s) are very down to earth. You will feel right at home here. Enjoy!

Bettter takeout than dining in
By Jeff Levin from Lincoln Park, January 30, 2008

Awesome food. Probably the best falafel in town. But the service is 1 star on a good day. Took some people there. I had to get up twice. Once to get the table water. Once to get some tahini and hot sauce for our sandwiches. Catching the waitresses eye did not help, even tho she was standing around gabbing. She just looked at me and went back to talking to the other waitress. I like the food so much I ordered a falafel to go. I opened it up the next day only to find that they forgot the pita and salad. Yep, my falafel sandwich consisted of 6 falafel balls and nothing else. Lame. They are now on Full Order check when I carry out. Good thing, I dont keep kosher and can go to other places when I want to sit down for a meal.

I'm not a huge carnivore, but the meat here tastes so good that I can't leave with eating chicken or beef. The hummus is also amazing, and finish the evening with some nana tea.

Great food - consistent every time
By Lilly W from Lincoln Square, November 13, 2007

We love this place - especially my kids. The food is outstanding - every time. The hummus, pita, mushrooms, chicken shnitzel, chips, tea nana and everything else are fabulous. The food is always fresh. Wait staff and bus boys are attentive, efficient and kid-friendly. And everyone is always smiling. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic food! So good,...
By Doug G from Chicago, il, February 10, 2007

Fantastic food! So good, in fact, that we used Taboun to cater our a party for 40 guests (some of whom only eat kosher food), and even though the food had to sit in a refrigerator overnight, when we warmed it up the next day, it was still delicious. Everyone loved it.

Eating it fresh in the restuarant is even better.

Can't recommend it highly enough--even for those who do not keep kosher.

We had our food delivered...

We had our food delivered for our company luncheon and it was a big hit. The beef for the pita's as well as the falafel was a huge success.

If you're a Kosher diner,...
By Adam Davis from Chicago, IL, June 22, 2005

Overall rating:

If you're a Kosher diner, this is the place to get your eat on. If you're not kosher or not even Jewish, but looking to have solid traditional Middle Eastern fare, its still a great place. Its family friendly and clean, the kitchen is largely open right in front of you so you see everrythign being done to order. The food is not fancy, but delicious, service is friendly. Everything is made fresh daily. If you can get Laffa there, GET IT! The Sandwich is a better deal than the platter, always. Falafel is pricer than next door but worth it, the schwarma is the best in town.
