Vong's Thai Kitchen: User Reviews
I ate here for the second time for dinner on a Friday night. Both times, the drinks were overpriced ($10 for a Long Island) and weak (did not taste any alcohol in it at all). The food is very good, however. I would eat here again, but would stick to beer or a non alcoholic drink.

This is quite different from when Vong first opened and it has lost the flavor of Thai cuisine. The appetizers were the best part of the meal but the sauces were weak and limited. The food could have been hotter (temperature and spiciness). The entree selection is limited and having sampled a wide noodle dish , a curry and a pad thai, I'd say they were bland and unremarkable. The beef and chicken quality was good but there were no distinctive flavors despite the variety tried for. They were out of the VTK signature spring roll, salmon and their oven wasn't working right which they told throughout the evening rather than before ordering. Drinks are weak. Unfortunately, a tasteless evening.

Delicious! The wasabi tuna pizza is delicious and flavorful. The Crab Pad Thai was wonderful! Great ambiance; excellent service. The spring rolls were just a little less flavorful.

I just today had lunch at VTK and was pleasantly suprised by food quality. If you are Thai food fan, it is the place for best Pad Thai.

Report This ReviewSimply Amazing. Had the appetizer assortment previously mentioned which was a great sampling and perfect in portion. Followed it up with several entrees split between about 10 friends, which included panang curry, red curry, pad thai, and another noodle dish. Even between 10 people this was way too much food. But it was sooo good. I recommend the souflee dessert and one of the cocktails made with some kind of flower tea. Altogether a fabulous dining experience.
Report This ReviewSolid 3 star rating for the money. First timer. Had the Black Thai Plate with add-on beef tenderloin - $28. That's the cost of the entire meal! Where else is one going to find a prix fixed dinner downtown for $28 including beef tenderloin. Passionfruit souffle was special.
Report This Reviewboring menu that doesn't stray from classic noodle dishes. not very authentic or adventurous; overpriced, also. service was poor and dining room was too warm/stuffy. overall, an underwhelming dining experience.
Report This ReviewWe were seated in the room adjacent to the bar, which was a disaster. None of the staff go in there and check on customers. Our waiter took 20 minutes to arrive after we were seated. We ordered drinks. 20 minutes later, my fiancé walked 10 feet to the bar and ordered them himself from a bartender. Food was excellent, but nobody appeared again after it was delivered. Water was not refilled until my fiancé took the empty glasses to the manager. My ladies room experience was even more disappointing--I was treated to the site of a busboy mopping vomit off the floor in an adjacent stall while I was doing my business. Complaints to the manager resulted in an insincere apology and a couple free drinks. We rounded our bill up to the next dollar and our waiter's tip amounted to a few coins--still too generous. I wonder if this is how Mr. Melman wants his restaurants to be managed?
