Mirai: User Reviews
So the first sign of a good sushi joint is not smelling like fish when you walk in. Fail. Their tuna was excellent and their salmon choices were amazing. I could take or leave alot of the complex sushi rolls - some just tried too hard. The food was good but it was 3x overpriced. It is literally $16 for a roll, and the roll is no larger than what you'd expect at a normal place. If you want to sample 3 pieces of nigiri tuna then this is your place. If you're looking for dinner, look elsewhere.

Went at 7:15 on a Saturday with no reservations and was able to get a quick seat for 2 at the sushi bar. Great food across the board, particularly the Spicy Maki Mono. Excellent, friendly and knowledgable service. Maki a bit overpriced ($16 for a six piece roll) but they were fantastic and super fresh. I'll be going back for sure.

We went to a work party there on the second floor. It was a great place, nice atmosphere but not enough seating for the party. We really liked the sushi - octopus roll really surprised us!

when i went to mirai a few weeks ago, the downstairs was practically empty, but the upstairs was very BUSY! the upstairs has a bar, and about 12 tables with the full menu. it was super loud when i was there, but it had cool music, and was worth the visit (especially for a special occasion!)

The food was not bad. But the size of each portion was very small. Overpriced and is not worth the money. Not coming back there.

This place is terrific. The sashimi is super-fresh, they have excellent traditional rolls and more inventive ones, the scene is terrific and you get more of a neighborhood vibe than a touristy one. The Kani Nigiri here is the single best roll I have ever tasted. Upon making reservations let them know that you want to dine upstairs where its a little more lounge-like.

Whoever has written a bad reveiw about this restaurant clearly must have ordered wrong when they went there. this is not only my favorite sushi restaurant in the city but my favorite overall restaurant aswell. the Chef's specialty rolls are amazing. no other rolls that I have eaten anywhere else even come close to the ones at Mirai. If you did not enjoy your first experience there, go back. order the specialty rolls. yes, it is a bit pricey but a place like Nomi in new york/LA is more expensive and I would eat at Mirai over Nomi any day.

Nearly didn't go because of the bad reviews on Metromix, but every dish was beyond excellant. Our server was knowledgable and passionate about the dining experience. Little sticker shocked, although having dessert and a good buzz we shouldn't have been. We will go back!
