We've been eating at Curry Hut since it opened, and we've never been disappointed. For people on the North Shore, there's no need to drive to Devon for great Indian food - Curry Hut is the place to go. The appetizer combo plate is tremendous, as are all the lamb dishes I've tried. The kids love the chicken kabobs, and the fluffy, hot, buttery naan is the best I've ever had. Service is friendly and quick, and prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

One of my best friend from Highland Park told me about Curry Hut restaurant after that I was always thinking to go in Curry Hut to hang out but because of my own business I was unable to have himalayan taste since I moved in Chicago from California.Finaly I went in such a place where I really enjoyed,Oh! my kids loved food especially butter chicken and Murg-malai kabab. The tradition of hospitality that comes in the smiling faces willing to provide great service and good food . The blend of mouth watering cuisine, relaxed atmosphere and friendly hosts make this place a nice hang out with friends and family. The service is excellent, don't ask any more about food. They can prepare the food as you ask.Spicy, mild or mediam whatever you like. Its really good place to enjoy with friends and family.

Curry Hut is one of our favorite restaurants on the North Shore. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the diversity and quality of choices. My husband is not a vegetarian, and he is equally in love with the place. We order different items each time and are never disappointed. Their breads are especially delicious (and this evening I had the pleasure of watching the owner/manager make bread in the clay tandoor--fascinating!). The sauces and spices are exquisite, not overpowering, and having Nepalese dishes alongside the usual Indian fare enhances the experience. We always order enough to take home for another meal (it tastes great reheated in the microwave) so as to savor it twice. The service is exceptionally friendly, and the ambiance is quiet and pleasant. A great place to converse, as you enjoy exotic, perfectly prepared cuisine.

With all the great restaurant choices on the North Shore, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I take lunch at Curry Hut almost every day. I'm absolutely in love with Indian cuisine, and Curry Hut easily rivals Devon St. in their approach to food. If you're lucky, you'll come in on a day when Dal Makhani is offered, but I must say that all the buffet items are quite extraordinary.
I often order the non-vegetarian special for dinner and was disappointed that they recently discontinued the spiced sausage from that menu item. But the vegetables and lamb that come with the special are outstanding. And you can't find better nan bread anywhere. (Take note, Mt. Everest in Evanston)
One downside: For background mood, it's really too bad that they don't draw on the rich heritage of Indian and Himalayan music. Their selections are thoughtless and range from piano music (bad piano samples, actually) played apparently by a nine year old, to what can only be described as clumsy Hindu club music. The music has dampened my experience there on many occasions, and I've now taken to bringing my own headphones and iPod. They're not at all responsive to my comments, probably because no one else seems bothered by the music. So you can't have everything, I suppose, and I'll suffer through the tunes for one more bite of Dal Makhani.

Many of our significant family celebrations have taken place there. Even though the food is exceptional, it is also the owners and the atmosphere and all the restaurant employees that make this a totally pleasurable experience! I love the freshness of the Nan bread and the fresh taste of all the vegetarian dishes cooked just perfectly with the right blend of spices. Another high point of this restaurant is that if there is anything you want done differently, like cook the tendori chicken until it falls off the bone, they will accommodate your preference. Excellent service, excellent food and a great atmosphere. I think they should be called, Curry Heaven and Banquet room instead of "The Curry Hut" because they are anything but a hut. A beautiful fance establishment with down-home values.

Includes a delish bean dish that is great substitute for meat.Anyone who is vegitarian or keeps kosher would find this a great buy.
