Chutney Joe’s co-owner Aatish Puniani thinks Chicago has enough Devon Avenue-style "menu-the-size-of-the-dictionary” Indian restaurants, so he has a different philosophy: small, fast and cheap. Puniani, a former photographer, and his father, co-owner Vijay Puniani, serve only made-from-scratch entrees at their Loop quick-serve offering a concise menu of four meat dishes, four vegetable dishes, naan and basmati rice. Add a soda and you have a speedy meal for less than $10.
