A Great Joint on Morse Avenue

I waited anxiously for the opening of the Common Cup, and the wait was definitely worth it! The coffee is great, lates are consistent and delicious...and the pastries are scrumptious (especially the almond croissants and fresh Italian bread - to be ordered in the morning before noon for delivery the next day)!!! Are you thirsty for a great cup of coffee, a fresh pastry, homemade soup and sandwich perhaps? Make your way on over to the Common Cup. You won't be disappointed!

Coffee house perfection?
By PeterOliverToo from RogersPark, November 18, 2007

Comfortable, clean, orderly, soothingly easy on the eyes.
Consistently terrific Intelligentsia Coffee makes for wonderful coffee and the best espresso drinks in the hands of Ruth and her capable barristas.
Delicious baked goods often created in their own kitchen by Ruth or staffers, or from Red Hen, one of the best bread bakeries in Chicago.
Ice cream mix-ins are made with real ice cream not soft serve, and are authentically, deliciously, endlessly customizable with a plethora of fresh ingredients.
Outdoor seating area is sort of cramped, though conceivably considered cozy.
On your way to or from the Morse el, stop in for a cup or two or three. Miss your train. It's worth it.
We are locals and can and often do walk here. Starbucks is closer, though after our first visit to the Common Cup we have never walked anywhere else.

A breath of fresh air in ever changing Morse avenue in Rogers Park. Great coffee, pasteries, cozy ( furniture could have been a bit better), great place.

At long last, the common cup has finally arrived. Not only do they have great coffee, but their ice cream and bake goods are to die for. If you aren't taken in my the edible treats then they warm atmosphere will. This is a great addition to the Rogers Park neihborhood. Please go check it out. You'll be hooked.
