Really expensive and it takes a while to make each dish. Fun to watch them use the liquid nitrogen and interesting concept, but not very good. I had to eat mine at warp speed if I had any hope of finishing at least half before it melted-- that's just not how I like to enjoy my ice cream.

Cute idea but the ice cream lacked flavor and taste. I have the chocolate ice cream and you could hardly tell it was chocolate. It wasn't creamy at all, it was almost like italian ice. The ice cream is also super expensive. Will not go back.

I enjoyed the rich dense ice cream and sorbet. They concept is solid and the store seem to have lots of happy guests all around!

I consider myself an ice cream afficiando. I had very high expectations for icream and to be honest - anything even resembling ice cream typically tastes GREAT to me. But this was downright inedible. Truly. It tasted really watery and wasn't at all creamy. Plus for $5 a pop - I expect it to be amazing. And the wait after we ordered - TWENTY minutes! Stick with Treats, Pinkberry, Coldstone - even Dairy Queen is WAY better. Really not worth it.

Alright...I'm giving this place another try. Yet it strikes out again. The Cubs have a better chance at a pennant than Icream does producing great ice cream. Don't get me wrong...the staff was nice and pleasant. The concept sounds like fun....but after a while when the gimmick wears off, what are you left with? Over-priced a little off tasting ice cream that takes 25 MINUTES to get. I'd hate to see what the place looks like if there's a line of 4 people or more....let alone how long it will take to get your order. At an average of $7 bucks a pop...NO WAY! Go to ColdStone...the ice cream is made to order, tasty, and you get it right away!

Disregard the reviews from people who went there when the machinery wasn't working properly (I don't think it's fair to give a bad review to iCream for technical problems that were out of their control [the building electricity wasn't wired for the ice cream mixers]). The ice cream was phenomenal. I got a chai ice cream with cookie dough in it and my fiance got mint oreo and it was some of the best tasting ice cream I'd ever had.
Everyone there seemed to be very impressed and the customer servise was also fantastic. The only complaint I would have is that it is a little crowded and they should probably have some take-out menues for people to look at since there isn't a lot of room in the building for everyone to be standing around looking at the main menu sign.
It was a really awesome experience and I would definately recommend it. The prices are very reasonable as well. Comparable to cold stone, except this ice cream tastes much better, and I love all of the options!

I read about this in the Red Eye and thought it would be a cool idea. Since moving back to Chicago from health-conscious San Diego, I thought I might have finally found a yogurt shop to become a regular at. So my husband and II made thr trip to Wicker Park to check it out on 8/17. They had no yogurt or ice cream. Ummm....that is what someone would expect to find in a place called icream, no? How could it be that the place just opened up and they ran out of the very product they claim to have revolutionized. Bad start. I will not be heading back. Luckily, Coldstone is just a block away on North Ave. and they have new health-conscious options to sample.
Report This ReviewWe arrived at ICream ready to try something new. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, we were told by our server that they were currently serving "Smoothies, which are selling really fast" or "Hot Pudding." When we asked why they weren't serving ice cream, we were told their machine was broken. "We can't serve anything cold." we were told. We laughed at the thought that out of the two things they WERE selling, the smoothies were selling better then the HOT PUDDING on August 20th. We then heard another server argue with a customer about how it wasn't that they were "out" of certain items, they just "never had them." Had there been a sign on the door or a note on the menu explaining the situation, I might have understood. But waiting in line to be told they weren't serving ice cream at an ice cream shop was ridiculous.I was psyched to try a new neighborhood place... Guess I'll stick w/ Dairy Queen.
