This Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, isn't quite like the DQ or Orange Julius you remember from when you were a kid. For starters, the two-story brick building has "green" elements, such as energy-efficient HVAC and an eco-friendly elevator. The 4,400-square-foot space also is fitted with urban touches such as a second-level outdoor deck—definitely a cut above your cheesy childhood haunt. The menu features DQ faves such as Blizzards, Peanut Buster Parfaits, Oreo Brownie Earthquakes, banana splits and sundaes, plus a lineup of Julius’ smoothies and fruity beverages. Added perks: There's a walk-up carryout window so you don’t have to lock up your bike or leash your pooch to get your licks, plus it’s open late to serve the post-bar crowd on the weekends.
