My husband and I stopped there on a whim after dinner and I am absolutely sold! While the waffle with the cream and nutello chocolate was 9 dollars, I would do it again! It was amazing! The best dessert I have had yet, can not wait to get it again. The service was great, we were asked if we had been there and then had samples of the waffle and gelato.

After passing this place numerous times, but of course stopping to get my free sample, I finally stopped by this place, and boy was I glad! I was opened up to a bunch of new sweet desserts - waffles, gelato, and chocolate. The waffles are awesome and I never had anything like it (ordered the waffle with raspberry gelato and whip cream). Gelato was great also. The owner was extermely polite and explained all the products - how everything is imported from Europe and everything is all-natural - not to mention more sampling. Awesome! The owner even mentioned that they recently started to take Euros I'll be back soon, but this time with my spare change of Euros.

The menu is difficult to read and figure out. The service was slow, even though there were two people behind the counter and no customers. One was talking on his cell phone the whole time. Other tables had not been bussed (for a while, it seemed), music was very loud. Tables and chairs are uncomfortable. I am certain one counter person sneezed on our food.
Waffles weren't made fresh, but still took 10plus minutes. Nothing special -- a belgian waffle with some cinnamon and sugar. Seven bucks for that was too steep.
The food is nowhere near good enough to put up with the wait and bad service. Very expensive, even for Lincoln Park and Belgian ingredients.

I can't believe I didn't discover these sooner! I have longed to find authentic Belgian waffles in the US for years. These waffles definitely deliver. I had mine without any toppings, just like I used to get them in Leuven. Fantastic!!! I bought mine at the walk-up window. Service was good, although they were a bit pushy about tasting the gelato. Yes, the gelato was good, but the waffles will keep me coming back regularly.

Having just come back from Belgium I was really excited to try this place. Have to agree with other bad review though...the service, though polite, was a bit confused, the waffle was okay but the toppings were a joke..."crystalized berry juices" are just sprinkes...no fresh fruit or whipped cream like Belgium. And the price was crazy...$6 for a waffle the size of my fist with a dollop of gelato? Forget it. Almost cheaper to just fly back to Brussels for the real deal. Disappointing.

Overpriced yes, but can you find a waffle like this outside Europe? Delicious and the owner is very friendly.

Great Illy coffee for only $1 (16 oz.) and the only sidewalk walk-up window in the area. I walk my dog and grab a cup everyday.

I'm glad this place finally opened, and I hope they are here to stay! Customer service was excellent. The owner walked us through how the waffles are made, and let us sample the gelato. The waffles are delicious, and I love that they are a little hand-held treat. I'd like to see the price go down by just a dollar, though. I'll definitely be coming back, and have already started spreading the word.

I think Ego Waffles might actually be better than these. After waiting at least 10 minutes for, NOT a freshly cooked waffle, but a small, hard, half-burnt waffle that had been sitting around for a few hours, I was much disappointed, considering a paid $7 for a mini-size waffle with "berry juices" which turned out to be mixed berry sprinkles. Yes, sprinkles. ??? The cheap Illy coffee was quite good. The employees seemed confused and disoriented, waiting on me quite promptly, and then letting my boyfriend stand in front of the counter for about 5 minutes, waiting for service (mind you, there are no other customers in the store). In conclusion, not recommended.
