We have yet to see "the show" that is frequently noted in the other reviews. Maybe I'm too old and am sleeping by the time it starts:) But I do know they make a mean char-grilled dog. The fries were good. I grew up in Chicago and love eating outside so this is a great place to people watch. While the service is not exactly fast, they were decent to us and not rude.

This place belongs in a movie. Hotdogs and cheesefries are out of this world. If you dont like this place you are a communist. The staff is rude, but thats part of the charm. You want a hotdog and a smile??? Go to Irvings.

I went during the day so I didn't see the evening show the place is famous for, but I was disappointed in the food, esp. the frankly nasty cheese fries and the price was outrageous $8.90 for burger, fries, drink, what gives?
