This quick-serve Lincoln Park eatery, part of a local mini-chain founded by George and Manolis Alpogianis in 1996, features the beloved Chicago-style dog alongside a lineup of irreverent offerings named for U.S. locales, such as the Buffalo (Buffalo wing sauce, blue cheese and celery salt) and the Dallas (chili, onions and shredded cheddar). Not in the mood for a wiener? The menu also offers Italian beef, turkey burgers and a Southwestern chicken sandwich, plus salads and wraps. Look for a more upscale interior than you'd expect from a dog stand—acclaimed architect Nancy Warren (North Pond, Frontera Grill) designed the space.
