Melanthios Greek Char House

John Giannopoulos, the owner of this Lakeview spot, is quick to point out that he doesn't serve typical Greek island fare. Instead, he focuses on the fresh, simple village food he grew up with in southern Greece. (He's even uses family recipes for some items, including the baked goods the restaurant makes in house.) Expect a meat-focused lineup incorporating cuts of organic lamb, pork, chicken and house shish kebab, all cooked over natural mesquite and applewood. Grilled veggies such as mushrooms and asparagus with house-made sauces round out the menu, with plenty of imported ingredients, including olive oils and olives, adding authenticity.
