This friendly, family-owned stand with the bright yellow sign over the entrance attracts a wide range of customers, from paint-splattered construction workers to businessmen, cell phones glued to their ears, who have left their car engines running to grab lunch. Owners Mary and George Ziamparas have run the place since the early '70s, when they took it over from George's father, who'd opened it in the '40s. 'We don't cook anything ahead of time,' says Mary. Indeed, there is nothing fast-foodish about this place except, perhaps, its appearance to an unenlightened passerby.
