Zen Palate
- 34 E. Union Square
- New York, NY 10003
- 212-614-9291
- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
Zen Palate's three-floor Union Square outpost—the flagship location of the gorgeous, Asian-vegetarian mini-chain founded by New York Buddists—leans toward the healthy. However, dishes are hearty enough to satisfy carnivores and fans of the rich and the fried. Start off with a sampler for two (which includes the resto's signature sweet yam fries) before selecting one of the etherial-sounding entrees like Moo Shu Fantasia or Jewel of Dharma.
