Sushi Taiyo

The family behind Lincoln Park Chinese-sushi hybrid Shine and Lakeview Japanese-sushi eatery Rise operates this River North spot, which mixes sushi and contemporary Asian fare in a casual space appointed with unfinished barn wood and natural stone. The Japanese-leaning menu features everything from standards such as gomae, udon soup and Japanese fried rice to contemporary entrees such as spicy stir-fried lobster and roasted rack of lamb with pine nut miso. Sushi options include both traditional sushi and sashimi and fancy fusion rolls such as the kobe harvest maki, which brings together salmon, tempura pumpkin, kobe beef and pumpkin puree.
