Summer Noodle & Rice: User Reviews

We have been dining in and doing take out from Summer for the last couple of months, and other than a very few dishes which came in at the "I can have that at most Thai places" category, we have been thrilled with this new addition to the Edgewater neighborhood.

One of the things which really stands out is how well everything is cooked. The seafood dishes - shrimp sticks, bangkok street calamari, any of the noodle dishes with shrimp - all come out moist and tender. No overcooked, curled up into a tight ball shrimp here. And the meat dishes continue in this vein - tender beef that pulls apart with your chop sticks and chicken that is tender and acts as more than just a protein boost to the dish.

The Golden Noodle Curry and the Red Duck are excellent, as are the Scallop Dynamite and most any calamari dish. We have worked our way about 1/2 way through the menu and have only encountered a few mediocre dishes. The currys are real standouts for their not sacrificing flavor in exchange for pure heat.

We have dined here several times with our kids (2 and 5). The kids loved the rice and noodle dishes and the staff was warm and welcoming.
