Neighborhood: Boystown
3322 N. Broadway

Chicago, IL 60657

Price range: $ (Under $9)
This always-packed pan-Asian neighborhood haunt offers mod, minimalist decor with white on white, cool video projections, and large windows that open up to the sidewalk. An expansion in 2007 nearly doubled the size of place (and added a cocktail menu), but kung pao chicken, pad thai, Japanese maki and pot stickers are just as excellent as ever, as is the value. Best bets: pingpong chicken, teaming with honey-roasted walnuts and veggies, and the gingery General's Chicken, with crispy chunks of meat. The crowd is a young, multicultural mix of straight and gay.
