Great food!

We have been going to Bamboo Blue since it opened and have never once received bad food or had bad service. I really wonder at the people that are writing these poor reviews. Sounds like some people have axes to grind (and can't spell either, lol). Whatever... try Bamboo Blue... I promise you won't be disappointed. Their martinis are awesome... my favorite is the MataHari... delicious! For an appetizer try the Asian Nachos or the Chicken Satay. I have never had an entree that I didn't like either. Drive or take the train to Homewood and try this place!

The service is at times lacking. I wish the owners could get this covered, because it is by far the most creative and enjoyable food out here! Perhaps if the wait staff read these reviews, they would understand that the difference between good and stellar is more about them than the consistently good food.

Try it and be politely demanding. They will step up.

We went on a Sunday afternoon just right after lunch service and we were greeted nicely sitted immediately. we waited for 20 minutes and left because we were not attended by the staff. The girl just walked by us twice and ignored us. how horrible, we never get such bad treatment anywhere in the city.

My friends and I had our "girls night out" here and it was great!! Easily the best martinis and bartender ever. My friends mango margarita was made with REAL mangoes (nothing from a can or bottle). It was our first time here and surely not our last. Keep up the good work!!

Wow! This was my first visit, but I'll definitely be back. I enjoyed the decor and the service was efficient, knowledeable and helpful. The menu is refreshingly diverse and the winelist is brief, but the selections are well considered. Prices are in line with what I would expect. I ordered a "spicy crispy hand roll" and was very impressed with the freshness and flavor of the tuna. I order sushi regularly, and this was among the very best items I have found in the Chicago area. I was inspired to order two more items from the suhi menu - the unagi and spicy tuna rolls and both were excellent. I'm looking forward to a return trip to try some of the other interesting menu selections.

First impressions I believe are the key to a restaurant's success and Bamboo Blue immediately impressed me as a Chicago style world class alternative dining experience. The options on the menu are a cross cultural mix of differring tastes and textures to suit your asian in america flavor desires. Then there's the liquors that may require muliple visits to try them all. Sakis aren't my everyday consumeable, though being able to try different kinds and serving styles is delightfully intoxicating. Though I have only graced the presence of this fine establishment twice, each time has left me satiated to say the least. The quality and service speaks for itself, because when you may decide to go, the place will be busy, but hey, the atmosphere lends itself to being a friendly place: A perfect place to go to after a power session of work and/or recreation.

Bamboo Blue was recommended to me as a visiting business traveler, and my dining experience far surpassed my expectations.
My cocktail was perfect (even though I had special requests). The food was excellent: fresh, seasoned perfectly (without tasting like Chinese takeout), and somehow just the right sized portion.
Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and charming, as was the Manager who stopped by to introduce herself to my party. In fact, from the Bartender to the Waitress to the Manger, I was treated with the same amount of respect and graciousness that one would expect as a customer.
I can't speak for the other poor reviews on this page, but perhaps they had the wrong address.
My colleagues and I drank, ate, and drank some more, and at no time did we encounter any of the unpleasantness others have described.
Bamboo Blue does it right!
