Mexique: User Reviews
The food here is always terrific and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. The chef often comes out to visit with patrons at their tables. The value is better for brunch/lunch than dinner, but its a recommend anytime.

My husband and I went for an early dinner with our 1 year old son, at first we thought the restaurant was not going to be very kid friendly...but it was! They came out with a plate of fresh fruit and goldfish crackers. The entire staff was wonderful, including the owner/chef who came out to greet everyone.
The food was wonderful, flavorful but not overpowering. We had the ahi tuna ceviche as an appetizer, and a meat main coarse. Delicous!! Not too much, not too little. And the dessert was a passion fruit cake that was unbelievable!!
Everything was wonderful, will definatly be back soon!!!

Mexique has great ambiance, excellent service, and the dishes are delicious! The combination of Latin spices and the richness of French cuisine is delightful!
Perfect for a weekday or weekend evening!

We ate with some friends last evening at Mexique and it was a great dining experience. Not only was the food outstanding, but the presentation and service were worthy compliments. Amongst the four of us, we had the Mexique salad, mussels and a trio of sopas (mini-appetizers). Everyone raved. But the entrees surpassed the appetizers. My duck, with a piquant sauce, was the best duck I have ever eaten. The short ribs literally fell off the bone and were delicious and was the flank steak. The sides worked beautifully and tasted great. Mexique serves wines by the glass and bottle and also beers. This is not your traditional Mexican restaurant. It's a very special place. We met the owner/chef and he has a great deal to be proud of.

We had a delightful dinner here on a Tuesday evening, when Mexique offers bottles of wine at half-price. A great deal, and though the wine list isn't huge, it's well chosen and quite interesting. I respect any restaurant that offers more unusual wines like Melon de Bourgogne.
Our dinner was excellent. The deceptively simple Tinga de Pollo appetizer turned out to be a great mix of textures and rich flavors, as did the Mexique Salad, which successfully mingled blue cheese, cranberries, walnuts, apples and other tasty bits.
My main course of duck confit and duck breast was just perfect. The breast was tender and not too fatty, accented by a sweet and spicy sauce. The thigh was even better, with a thin, crispy skin and super-rich meat. The sweet creamy corn and slightly bitter chard were great contrasts.
Service was very professional - the wine was served properly, they gave us new silverware with each course, and they were attentive without being obtrusive.
A great experience!

Fantastic food! Must highly recommend the Rainbow Trout and "Guacamole" dessert (you'll see!). Wonderful surprise with appetizers! Wine selection unique match for Mexican/French fusion restaurant: Malbecs and Syrahs; but slightly limited. Awesome open kitchen. Chef Calos and his staff treated us very well! It was great to see a restaurant in full occupancy on a Tuesday evening. Wonderful interior design, but a little cramped when full... get there early. Overall an amazing value, and very fun to experience a new and exciting restaurant!

Psst... Don't Tell Anyone but I know this great restaurant...Mexique
Chef Carlos and his team have hit a home run with Mexique. Four of us in the restaurant industry dined at Mexique last night and had a fabulous experience and all will becoming back...very soon.
The highlights of the evening - Oysters Three Ways (a special), Trio of Sopa, Rainbow Trout, Mussels with chirizzo. Then the Desserts Enchiladas Chocolate, Guacamole and the Apple Tart (over the top).
Half Price Wine on Tuesday was a pleasant bonus.
Hurry up and visit Mexique before everyone knows about it.

Went here last night, and if it weren't for the poor service I might have given the place 5 stars. Unfortunately we had a rough start. When we arrived no one waited on us for almost 15 minutes, even though the place was 80% empty! Finally a waitress came by and explained that there was some confusion on whose table ours was. She also never told us about any of the specials, and both the tables on either side of us received some complimentary special appetizer as a starter, but we didn't get that. We were pretty sour on this restaurant by now, but luckily the food made up for it. We got the Pescamal appetizer and these tasty little chicken tostadas (really good), and for entrees we got the flank steak and trout. Both were excellent. The chocolate enchilada dessert was the perfect way to end the night, and overall I was happy we tried this place.

Wow - food was amazing, service was exactly right, and the wine selection is very reasonable and very delicious. We had the carne asada, the short ribs, the mussels, the ceviche and everything was great. Very nice work!!
Report This ReviewMy girlfriend and I went here on a Tuesday half price bottle of wine night. The restaurant was crowded, but not noisy, around 8pm. The reviews and half price wine is what brought us here, but the food and service will definitely bring us back. We had the flank steak and the pork tenderloin dishes and my girlfriend said the flank steak was one of the best dishes she has had in a long time. I agreed that the food was phenomenal. I would say that this place is a must for you to try if you have never been there before. Peace, LeeRoy
